OH... MY... GOD!!!
Our honeymoon was seven days on Terceira. We reserved a private two person tour with Ivo. He met us at our hotel at 10am and we drove to so many amazing sites over the next 8 hours. We started at a coffee and fruit plantation and a pottery shop. We sampled the fruits, the coffee, cascara tea and had a nice visit with the owners. In the afternoon the tour included one of the best meals of the week for lunch and finished the day with a cheese tasting.
Ivo was an warm, friendly and knowledgeable guide. It felt like we were being shown around a friends home, a home he clearly loves. It added so much richness to the sight seeing and he welcomed all of our questions.
This was a highlight of our week and SO worth it!

My daughter and I had a fabulous full day tour of the island with Terceira Tours. Ivo, our tour guide, was exceptionally accommodating, knowledgeable, and fun to be with. We saw so many beautiful vistas, visited the ocean baths, and toured a coffee/fruit farm where we had a cup of the most delicious coffee ever. We visited a family-owned cheese factory and had a tasting of the local cheeses, while watching videos of the village bull runs. We had a delightful and relaxing lunch by the ocean. We learned a lot about the local culture and history of the island. If I could give Terceira tours 10+ stars, I would. I would encourage anyone visiting the island to schedule a private tour with Terceira Tours — you won’t be disappointed.

We had a day tour with Ivo which was fantastic. He showed us a side of the island we had not seen yet with other guides. We felt like we really got a feel and understanding for how people live on Terceira. Ivo was extremely flexible planning the trip and taking into account what we had already seen even though we had already seen most of the "Typical" tourist spots, he still found so many interesting and beautiful sites that were off the beaten path. Lots of hidden gems! He is a wealth of Azorean knowledge. A MUST DO!

Our family of 6 adults had the pleasure of having a tour with Ivo. He was a wonderful tour guide who showed us much of the island and some “secret” spots that only the locals might know. Ivo interacted with everyone very amicably and made our experience very special. He also went above and beyond when he helped us find a retired priest who knew my Portuguese grandfather who had moved from Doze Ribeiras over a 100 years ago! Our full day tour of Terceira was beyond our expectations. Views were amazing! Our tour guide Hagna was the best. She was informative and a safe driver. The tour included a great full lunch featuring a traditional dish of alcatra. Delish! I highly recommend this tour with no hesitations.

We went on the coffee and fruit tour with our children ages 13 to 20. It was fantastic. Joe, The farmer was very personable and made it a very fun experience. He and his wife were so hospitable. Agna, the guide who picked us up, was very nice. On the way to the farm she pointed out many things and talked about the history of the island and answered any questions we had. I wish the tour had been longer and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

WOW – what an incredible experience we had on the island of Terceira! Our time exploring this beautiful destination was made truly unforgettable thanks to our exceptional tour guide, Ivo, from Terceira Tours.
We embarked on two full-day adventures: the first day covering the eastern side of the island, followed by a second day exploring the western side. Doing the tours back-to-back turned out to be the perfect choice—it allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in all the highlights and hidden gems that we undoubtedly would have missed on our own.

Oh my! Where do I begin, our tour with owner Ivo was second to none. His knowledge and detailed planning for our full day and our night tour made for the most memorable of experiences. We had a layover at Terceira on our way to Sao Miguel. I contacted Ivo for a private tour that would pick us up from the airport and return us for our connecting flight. I left the itinerary up to Ivo as I figured he would know the best locations based on the time we had.

We've had to really customize our tour because of our little daughter, but Terceira Tours came through with maximum flexibility. Our guides were very kind, showed us interesting places to see and also some to eat and drink at, and we've had really good conversations on the way, combined with professional information about the flora and fauna. They also gave us the unique opportunity to have a small little peek inside the private life of Tercerians as well. Top notch, everyone should try a tour with them.

The day was filled with many stops including the best lunch of our two weeks visit, coffee break and tour and a late afternoon snack at the cheese shop. We rode comfortably from stop to stop and were able to find some geocaches along the way. We made a new friend and got to experience Terceira in a special way.

We have spent the last 10 days touring Portugal and this tour is definitely one of the highlights, if not our favorite experience. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the entire tour. Our favorite parts were the lunch by the ocean, the fruit/coffee farm tour and the lagoon. Our 5 year old daughter says Ivo is the best part of our entire trip, which is a very high compliment from a 5 year old 🙂 We had a diverse group, from 2 years old to 65 year olds and everyone thought it was exceptionally great.

Excellent! Our tours with owner Ivo Silva exceeded expectations! Ivo is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the history, culture, and natural beauty of Terceira. Born and raised on the island, he seems to know everyone! So creative in customizing our tours - we took the easy hike through the rainforest, enjoyed the coffee plantation, potter's studio, cheese tasting as well as taking in the incredibly breathtaking mirodouros throughout Terceira all at our own pace! We especially appreciated the kindness Ivo showed to all, and his stories of the way the island's residents care for each other. Wonderful! A wonderful tour with the donkeys being very friendly. It was fun feeding them carrots, milking them and trying their milk. The owners are enthusiastic about this venture and are working to spread the word of the medicinal purposes of the milk. Ivo is an excellent guide and fun too. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful time touring with Ivo while in Terceiras. He is very knowledgeable and share fun facts about the location. The tour feels very customized, we did not feel rushed and he really took the time to give details about the spots that we visited.
I think one great measure of having a meaningful travel experience in any new place you visit is when you make connections with locals in the area. Our family felt a great sense of understanding for the community that is Terceiras Island, and Ivo communicated that very well in the tours that he does.

We saw Monte Brasil with a view, fortification and cat house.
We saw Gruta do Natal, Algar do Carvão and Furnas do Enxofre. In addition, we also visited a cheese factory, where we tasted cheeses. So even though we got around a lot, we never felt like we had to rush. We weren't just another tourist on the road, but parted with a big hug after a lovely day 😃😄

Ivo is a fantastic tour guide and he is passionate about his island! We were the first school group that Ivo worked with and we had a fantastic 6 days in Terceira with plenty of activities, ranging from whale watching to hiking to environmental activities and hands-on experiences. Ivo made our first day in Terceira one that made us already want to return! He was knowledgeable and gave us so much background knowledge on Terceira, the land, the animals and the culture that could only come from a local. We did a full day hiking tour and went on 2 beautiful trails, had a delicious picnic with local foods and saw the island's very own volcanic cave! Even after the tour he gave us restaurant suggestions for our stay (and these were my favorite restaurants during our whole stay in the Azores)! If this is your first time to Terceira, this is a must, and if not, it's a great bonus. Thanks Ivo!

This was such an incredible tour - so personable that not only did we feel like family but we booked another day. Everything we did was fabulous - from the lunch that was custom made to our dietary needs to the visit at the cafe where we were welcomed like old friends, it was such a beautiful experience. If you are visiting Terceira, I strongly recommend you do the private tour with Terceira Tours. Ivo was our guide and he was amazing in so many ways. He presented the history and cultural information about the different places in such way that kept us always so interested throughout the tour. He took us to many breathtaking spots one always as beautiful as the other. Ivo took us to a remarkable restaurant for lunch that served us traditional Terceira food that was absolutely delicious. And the view stunning! He gave us ample time to take pictures and time to explore certain spots further on our own. My husband and I had the best time on this tour and we greatly appreciated Ivo’s kind demeanour and attentiveness to our needs. We have done many tours but this is truly a 5 star tour! I have never been on a tour where I felt so comfortable. Ivo is born on the island and he knows the history of the island plus so much more. He took me to the mountain, the famous lagoon, cave, and lava tubes. He is very relaxed and let's you know that you can take your time to look at all the many details. Ivo works many hours yet he informed me that I could go past the hours of my tour. He offered to take me to the cheese maker (which would have made my tour an hour longer!) but I was tired. Ivo, I must thank you for providing this incredible tour. You are professional and so kind. Thank you for sharing your island with me. I have so much respect for you and this beautiful island. Ivo and the tour day that he picked for us was amazing! There were 6 of us on the private tour. We each had varying degrees of walking abilities and Ivo made sure we were all comfortable. The sights and activities were interesting, beautiful, and fun but Ivo’s hospitality and knowledge are what made our day so special and memorable. We asked many questions and he knows everything! I would come back just to spend another day with him on this beautiful and unique island.

My wife and I ended up choosing the full day slow tour with Terceira Tours and it was the best decision we made! Ivo was professional and courteous from beginning to end. He showed up on time, was knowledgeable, and was creative and flexible in adjusting the tour. He asked what we wanted to focus on and went out of his way to bring us somewhere if it caught our eye. We saw all of the major attractions along with many not so known locations. He gave us recommendations for additional places and restaurants to try while on the island. We had 1 full day on Terceira Island, and we are so happy we spent it on this tour.
Ivo was an incredible guide - he showed us around to all the main points of the island, mixed with a few surprises along the way. Not only was he super informative, but very chilled and did not rush or pressure us to move from one place to another - he customized the day to our liking.
Definitely recommended to anyone considering going.

Wow!!! What a great and unforgettable full day tour by the one and only Ivo. A perfect organisation and a trip to the hidden and abandoned places on this beautiful island. But also a tour to the residents, who live behind the high volcanic stone walls. Our highlight was an „expedition“ to a piece “Central America“ on Terceira Island. Ivo is a tour guide you will remember for years. He is one of the friendliest people you will ever meet and it was obvious his passion comes from helping travelers uncover the beauty of the Island. Fantastic! Excellent! Terrific! Wonderful!
I did a four hour private tour with Ivo. He showed up on time, was fully prepared, and was a safe driver. The van was clean and im mint condition. That's the basic stuff...
Now for the stuff that matters:
Ivo knows his island inside out. He was knowledgeable about the history and culture of Terceira, about the island's flora and fauna and marine life, about food, climate, local industry, island trivia, and so on. I had a delightful tour, which included seeing amazing scenery, a few hidden gems, and dipping into some cozy places for snacks and coffee.
We went at a leisurely pace and we had plenty of time to enjoy the sights and stops along the way. I would definitely book Terceira Tours again. Ivo was an absolute pleasure to have as a tour guide. it was a great outing and it's the stuff that memories are made of.

Our guide Ivo was the most amazing person you will ever meet..he is so friendly, accommodating and so fun to be around..his knowledge of the island is extensive and he knows all the most amazing places to see! I cannot recommend him enough and wish we were here longer to spend more time with him! He made our trip beyond memorable! If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

We had a phenomenal day with Ivo. Ivo was very personable as well as incredibly knowledgeable. It was like spending a day with an old friend seeing new places. We learned a lot about the geology, the fauna, the people. We had a lovely late afternoon tour a coffee plantation and were treated like old friends. We highly recommend the full day “slow” tour, and we would recommend Ivo and Terceira tours any time.

Ivo is simply the best! His level of professionalism is hard to find. He thinks of little surprises during his tours. He is also very punctual. Always friendly and would give him 6+ stars if I could. Don't hesitate in booking with Terceira Tours.

We would highly recommend Ivo for anyone wanting a tour of Terceira. He is so knowledgeable & passionate about the island. He took us to so many beautiful places, many of which are not visited by other tours. He booked us into a fabulous restaurant for a typical Terceiran lunch. The food, service & views were amazing. We would definitely book him for one of his hiking tours next time.

A Must Do! We had the most wonderful day traveling on this private tour of Terceira island with owner Ivo. He is a super kind, thoughtful person who shared his love of his island with us. Fantastic tour and well worth our time and money. If you’re thinking of booking a tour of the island you can’t go wrong with Ivo. He is very informative, can speak many languages and will cater to all your needs. What we especially enjoyed was his patience with everyone, the choice of restaurants, cafés and local establishments where we were able to see, sample, and enjoy great food and company in an entire day. Just tell him what it is you enjoy doing/seeing and leave the rest to him. You won’t be disappointed. Check out his site for various activities. Once again Ivo, thx for a wonderful experience. Me and my partner booked a slow full day tour of the island and it was amazing! Ivo was our guide and he did everything to make sure that we got the full history of the island and all the best sites. Ivo even shared some of his own experiences and answered any additional questions we had for him. He was truly knowledgeable, caring, and respectful. Ivo even goes beyond for the people of the island, making sure to include them and their experiences in the tour, going to different restaurants every tour to make sure to spread the wealth, and made sure that if anyone had an allergy or dietary restriction to honor it and make sure they were comfortable and safe. A truly amazing experience and I would gladly do it again.

Terceira Tours, the owner and guide, Ivo, shared his knowledge of this lovely Azores Island. He was personable, flexible with our schedule and excited to promote his island. My mother, a travel agent and I enjoyed the various historical sites, the volcano, the lava tubes, the views, and the local culinary delights. In regards to the environment, we appreciated his thought to using reusable water bottles and quick drying towels.

This day was amazing, Ivo is such a great guy. He showed us the entire island. He's passionate and very friendly and he could adjust the tour to our wishes. We love slow tour, you won't be disappointed.

Amazing day, one of our best on our trip to the Azores. Really worth the money. Our alternative was to rent our own car, but this is just the same but better. He takes our wishes into consideration and adjusts to our needs. Thank you Ivo!

I spent a week in Terceira with a few friends and had been on a few tours before one of my travel partners had found Terceira Tours. I'm so happy that she did! Ivo, our tour guide, made sure to make this tour very personable. He asked all the questions to make sure we hit all the spots we had not seen yet and made sure we were prepared for anything. He had walking sticks, rain coats, water, fresh fruits, first aid kit, and probably much more for the just in case situations. He was so respectful with everyone and very patient and accommodating. He also offered to take pictures and make a special video for us. It felt like he was more than a tour guide, it felt like we were all good friends. Im very thankful for that day and the memories made! I 100% will recommend him to all my friends and family and strangers alike.

Absolutely the best! I’ve made the last day on Terceira our best! Our whale watching tour cancelled due to weather, I contacted Ivo, sent him info on where we had been and what we’d still like to see and he went above and beyond to make our day wonderful! Kind, courteous, friendly, happy, Ivo made our day. I can’t say enough good about him and his tours!!!!

Super recomendo
Foram dois dias de experiências únicas na ilha Terceira, que sozinha não teria feito. De realçar a disponibilidade para desenhar um tour personalizado, a simpatia do guia Ivo e o facto de ser uma slow tour, o que me permitiu apreciar todos os momentos da viagem sem stress e preocupação com as horas.
Na minha opinião foi dinheiro muito bem gasto.

Five stars are not enough! I wish I could give more - Ivo deserves every star in the universe. He was so knowledgeable and passionate about the island, and did an incredible job tailoring the tour to our interests. What a delightful person and absolute joy to spend a day exploring a beautiful island with. There’s really no better way to get to know Terceira and the hospitality of the people. We loved every minute!
